Wellness Care
Preventive care is the foundation of a long, healthy life for your pet. Our wellness programs are designed to keep your dog or cat thriving at every life stage.
Keeping Your Pet Healthy for the Long Run
Regular wellness visits allow our veterinarians to catch potential health issues early — before they become serious problems. From puppies and kittens to senior pets, we tailor our care to your pet's age, breed, and lifestyle.
At Southtowns Animal Hospital, a wellness exam is more than just a checkup. It's an opportunity for our team to build a complete picture of your pet's health, update preventive care, and answer any questions you have about nutrition, behavior, or day-to-day wellbeing.
What's Included in a Wellness Visit
Our comprehensive wellness exams cover all the essentials:
What to Expect
The Exam
Your veterinarian will perform a thorough head-to-tail physical exam, checking eyes, ears, teeth, skin, coat, heart, lungs, abdomen, and musculoskeletal health. This is also a great time to bring up any concerns or changes you've noticed at home.
Preventive Care
Based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and health history, we'll update vaccinations, recommend parasite prevention, and order any diagnostic tests that are due. We'll explain each recommendation so you can make informed decisions for your pet.
Your Care Plan
Before you leave, we'll review findings, answer your questions, and outline a personalized care plan — including when to schedule your next visit. Our team is always available by phone if questions come up between appointments.
