What to Expect
Preparation
Depending on the area being imaged, your pet may need to fast for several hours beforehand, or have a full bladder for a urinary evaluation. We'll give you specific preparation instructions when you schedule the appointment.
The Scan
Most pets tolerate ultrasound very well, but sedation is sometimes needed. Your pet will lie on a padded table while a small handheld probe is gently moved over the skin. The area may be lightly shaved and a gel applied to improve image quality. The scan typically takes 20–45 minutes.
Results & Next Steps
Our veterinarian will review the images with you and explain what was found. Depending on the results, we may recommend additional diagnostics, a treatment plan, or a referral to a specialist. We'll make sure you leave with a clear understanding of your pet's condition and the path forward.
