 Lucas
Kandefer DVM, our newest veterinarian at Southtowns Animal Hospital, is a
graduate of the University of Glasgow Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Scotland.
He did his undergraduate work at Quincy University in Illinois. Dr. Kandefer
grew up in East Aurora, and is glad to be back in Western New York after his
studies and extensive travels.
In addition to studying abroad, Dr. Kandefer spent five years living in Europe,
where he has visited over 15 countries, including a Christmas spent in Rome and
a New Year in Berlin.
Dr Kandefer played NCAA Division I Volleyball as an undergraduate, and played in
Division I in the Scottish National League for the Glasgow Metropolitan
Volleyball Club. He also represented Scotland in the British Universities
National Tournament, earning Gold Medals twice in three years. Locally, Dr
Kandefer has coached both high school and club teams.
Not only does Dr. Kandefer love animals and being our newest veterinarian, but
he enjoys skiing, hiking, kayaking and water sports.
